Overview
CanAm Enterprises, LLC (CanAm), an affiliate of CanAm GP, LLC, is a financial advisor which has been actively involved in structuring, promoting and administering private and government syndicates pursuant to the Canadian Business Immigrant Investor Program (BIIP) since 1987. Similar to the U.S. immigrant investor program, the BIIP facilitated permanent residency status in Canada for applicants who invested in qualifying projects or funds.
CanAm Enterprises, LLC no longer promotes the BIIP because the immigrant investor program became nationalized by the Canadian government.
CanAm has raised approximately CDN$270 million (US$192 million) from over 1,400 qualified subscribers under the BIIP. During CanAm's fifteen year history, it has represented the Provinces of Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick in connection with BIIP funds operated by these provinces.
Tom Rosenfeld is the President and principal of CanAm. Mr. Rosenfeld is both an attorney and certified public accountant. He obtained his undergraduate and law degrees from Temple University (Philadelphia) and was employed by Price Waterhouse (currently PricewaterhouseCoopers) in Philadelphia both before and after attending law school. During his tenure at Price Waterhouse, Mr. Rosenfeld had income tax and audit responsibilities for major clients and authored a number of the firm's educational publications. In 1983, Mr. Rosenfeld left Price Waterhouse to become a partner in a real estate syndication firm, where he remained until forming CanAm in 1987.
